So we all thought Spring was here to stay, just started to get used to the two pairs of lapwings flying in the field opposite, and the sound of curlews over the moor, and the very new lambs leaping with adrenaline and wearing their little plastic coats, when a foot and a half of snow was dumped on us, lines were bought down, phones cut off, and floods causing chaos around Scotland. But managed to get these two drawings done for a local report before all the lights went out. Still cut off from making it back up my hill home, so thankfully sitting in my mum's lovely warm house. Bliss. Gotta love mothers.

It seems we are in tune with your weather in Scotland here in NH, USA. Spring sprang and then was washed away amid record breaking rains and raw days. I hear it will come back soon. Your sketches are great.
ReplyDeleteI love the loose sketch of the bird up top! Sorry to hear of the reemergence of your winter. In Texas we seem to have gone from winter straight into summer! My garden is springing up though and that makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable Cat, can't believe you are stranded. Love your description of the birds and animals above xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sketches. Thank you for sharing them with us. Sorry you have been snowed in/out, but at least you are warm and fed.
ReplyDeleteYes, poor Scotland is having a bad time at the moment. Glad you are warm and cozy, and finding time to draw!
ReplyDeleteWonderful drawings! Sorry about your not-so-wonderful weather though.
ReplyDeleteSounds like good old Missouri weather to me. You can move the Scotsman to America, but you can't get the Scotsman away from crazy weather. Not in Missouri anyway. X.
ReplyDeletelovely drawing - the sketches look so easy and loose . Hope your Scottish Spring improves very soon
ReplyDeleteLovely loose sketches! Sorry about the terrible weather, sending you warm Spring wishes!!
ReplyDeleteYour sketches are loose and expressive - very well done! I hope that by now spring has come back. nancy
ReplyDeleteI just love the one with the flying bird, so simple and I like it that way... I hope you will have a better spring and summer than what your winter was... One of my friends is flying back home to Scotland, just waiting for the ash to clear.
